"This is a (highly subjective) painting of my memories of visiting Zimbabwe as a child. I recall thunderstorms that seemed to occur at the same time most afternoons. In this painting lightening floods the whole scene in a cool light. The suburbs of Harare stretch over huge distances and sculpture sellers line the streets. The petrol on the freshly gritted asphalt shows the state of dereliction of the vehicles that throng the roads of Harare", Josh Hollingshead.
