Sam Hall is a Yorkshire born and Cornwall based potter who has been making pots since 1995. He now lives and works in St Ives Cornwall. His work is celebrated internationally and exhibited within the UK, Europe and USA.
Many of his ceramic vessels are shaped into a distinctive flattened cylindrical form. He applies traditional throwing techniques and builds up the surface using slips, oxides and glazes. He also makes use of scored lines, abstract marks and textured surface in an expressive manner, managing to extract a deeply involved and descriptive quality to his ceramics.
