Birgitte Bruun

From her Danish roots Birgitte is influenced by Scandinavian Design; her pieces are simple, contemporary in design and accessible to wear.

Birgitte likes to produce contrasts in her work, whether by texturing, oxidising or milling the silver or gold. She particularly enjoys shaping the metal by forging and planishing and many of her pieces involve these techniques. Birgitte also includes interesting semi-precious stones in her designs and highlights of gold.

Birgitte has recently completed a commissioned collection of contemporary 18ct gold jewellery.

Where appropriate pieces are hallmarked with her unique mark which is registered with the London Assay Office. Birgitte Bruun is a member of The Cambridge Jewellers Guild and Cambridge Open Studios.

Birgitte is also featured in the Crafts Council Maker's directory.
