Experience the beauty of antiquity up close at Primavera, where treasures are not merely relics behind glass, as typically seen in museums. Our three-story gallery provides a unique juxtaposition of ancient Bronze Age, Celtic, Roman, Anglo-Saxon and Viking handcrafted brooches and contemporary jewellery. Crafted from silver or bronze with exquisite enamel and one with gold detailing, these unique pieces date back to circa 1000 BC and were discovered in the UK. Simultaneously, the works of British contemporary jewellers, inspired by the past, offer the fascinating contrast.
Visitors are encouraged to not only admire but also touch and interact with the artwork - in one of our rooms overlooking the entrance to King's College, this particular one used by the author James Joyce to record Finnegans Wake - within the ambiance of our historic listed building. Join us at the Cambridge Arts Festival for an immersive journey through art, transcending temporal boundaries.
