Iveta Goddard
Iveta Goddard studied ceramics in the Czech Republic before establishing her own pottery studio in West Sussex. Iveta creates her contemporary pieces through the slab-building method, working in white earthenware and stoneware. Techniques such as engraving, carving and stamping and the deployment of colourful gazes are then used to decorate her pieces.
Iveta's clocks are an especially noteworthy facet of her output. Both decorative and functional, she likes to think of her pieces as holding a rustic charm which blurs the pretty and the practical. Instant and unexpected inspiration is a joyous reality for Iveta, she says "for example, the idea for the shape of the clocks that I make came from an interesting stone I saw in an ornamental garden".
